His most recent Broadway star turn has been in the role of Billy Flynn in the Tony Award-winning hit musical, Chicago. Prior to his Broadway return, Brent relocated to Las Vegas, where he opened the new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular. He starred in the title role at the Venetian Hotel for 2 years to sold-out houses. Brent received the coveted Olivier Award for his starring role in the London production of the revival of Kiss Me Kate; his acclaimed performance was recorded for broadcast on PBS. Other major roles include the role of Frank Butler in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun, opposite Reba McEntire, Charles Castleton in the Alan Jay Lerner production of Dance a Little Closer, and Baron Felix von Gaigen in Grand Hotel. As a soloist, Brent has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Royal Albert and Royal Festival Halls in London, with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Boston Pops, the Minnesota Opera and many other prestigious concert halls around the world. Brent has created four very special concert shows for theatres, cabarets, and performing arts centers, giving presenters the wonderful opportunity to bring him back for encore performances again…and again…and again. Brent’s Broadway Concert Shows are: Life Is: The Songs of Kander and Ebb…a stunning tribute to the award-winning songwriting team famous for Broadway blockbusters like Cabaret, Chicago and Kiss of the Spiderwoman and great film scores, including their most famous song, New York New York, which became the anthem for everyone from Frank Sinatra to Liza Minnelli. Anyone Who Loves: The Songs of Alan Jay Lerner…a celebration of one of Broadway’s most supreme lyricists with exhilarating and romantic songs from Camelot, On a Clear Day, My Fair Lady and more. Bernstein on Broadway…a unique homage to Leonard Bernstein, one of the most prodigiously talented and successful music maestros in American history, and composer of On the Town, Wonderful Town, Candide, and what is generally considered a true Broadway masterpiece: West Side Story. Christmas Mornings…a tribute to the most wonderful time of year, featuring traditional holiday classics and other beloved songs of the season.
