The Marvelettes were Motown's first successful female vocal group. They are most notable for recording the company's first US #1 pop hit, “Please Mr. Postman”, which, has been recorded by many other groups. During their eight-year run on the charts, the group scored nineteen top forty R&B singles and ten top forty American Pop Singles. Of these hits, three were top ten pop singles, nine were top ten R&B singles, and one was number one on both charts. “Don’t Mess with Bill”, “Beachwood 4-5789” “The Hunter Gets Captured by The Game”, “Too Many Fish in The Sea” are just some of the hits that these gals strung together to make them one of Motown’s greatest girl groups. Book The Marvelettes for a soulful evening!
