Dr. Dre….is Hip Hop’s greatest producer, responsible for the success of artists like Eminem, N.W.A., 2Pac, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and the list goes on.
Sly5thAve…is a Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer who has worked with a host of highly- fêted musicians including: Prince, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Taylor Swift, Janelle Monae, and many others.
The Invisible Man….is Sly5thAve’s original rearrangement and re-imagination of the music of Dr. Dre. Featuring Sly leading a 25-piece orchestra, the concert is neither hip hop nor classical…but a fusion of the two, with jazz notes tossed in for good measure. The set list includes Sly’s Classical arrangements of Dre classics like California Love (2Pac), Guilty Conscience (Eminem), and Next Episode to later Hits like No Diggity (Blackstreet).

Sly5thAve is the project of Sylvester Uzoma Onyejiaka II, whose sophisticated compositions are shaped by his faith in hip hop, and deep understanding of soul and jazz. Sly5thAve’s projects and accomplishments over the last few years include; the inception of the first orchestral concert dedicated to Dr Dre, playing saxophone with Prince, leading the ClubCassa Chamber Orchestra, and his revered co-reworking of Herbie Hancock’s classic ‘Headhunters LP’ which was debuted on Tru Thoughts in 2015.
