MOJO& THE BAYOU GYPSIES

All-Original American Roots Music and Stories

in the Louisiana Bayou Tradition at its BEST!

This Bayou Man, Mister MOJO, and his troupe of near-mad musical provocateurs, have poured Louisiana Fire on audiences across the planet for over a quarter century.

Few performers can lift an audience like Mojo, star of the Bayou Gypsies, performing all original Louisiana music certified by the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.   The music reflects the Louisiana Zydeco band as well as Cajun and New Orleans two-steps, rock and roll and blues rhythms.   Mojo combines the styles in a gleeful gumbo he calls “red hot mojo music”.   The band delivers a thrilling crescendo of Cajun accordion, fiddle, rubboards and more. According to Performing Arts Center Directors, Fans, and Producers, none match the unbridled fever this charismatic singer/accordionist and his band bring to the stage.

Mister Mojo has performed for more than 56 years, worldwide. As an artist, Mojo has written hundreds of original songs recorded on twenty-three MOJO &  The Bayou Gypsies’ albums.  His music is featured in movies and commercials, and his song, "Lights on the Bayou", is the theme song of the movie, "Soldiers Stories", now featured in the new US Army National Museum. He is also the subject of the Feature Film, "Magic Behind the MOJO", by Gallo Films, currently on the international Film Festival Circuit.

As a music historian, Mojo got the Frottoir -- the Zydeco rubboard -- inducted into the Smithsonian Institution. As a documentary producer, Mojo is executive producer of the Historic Preservation documentaries about the legacy of Mervine Kahn, who brought accordions to the original Cajun and Creole accordion masters. As a music educator, Mojo has a strong commitment to Arts Outreach to children (approaching 300,000 children) and underserved communities, and has mentored many artists to develop their careers and business.

As an actor, storyteller and comic, Mojo has performed on stage, on radio, television, voiceovers, documentaries, scientific works, Master of Ceremonies, Keynote Speaker, and in commercials.  MOJO was a featured performer on CMT-TV's "Swamp Pawn", and has been on the show's opening for years.

His most prized award is the "Humanitarian Award" from Shriners Hospitals for Children he first received in 2011. He has received total of three Humanitarian Awards from Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Mojo has worked tirelessly to enhance the music industry, life for musicians and their families, and to use the Arts to enhance the lives of people everywhere.
