Some call “The Beat Goes On” a Broadway-style show. We call it a theatrical concert experience and it all revolves around the unique and powerful icon …CHER. Her Story: music, movies, fashion and impact on the world of entertainment and six generations of fans. The underlying theme of the show - empowerment, hope, incredible reinvention, the rise and fall of success plus decades of her live hit music packed into 90 minutes. You will laugh, cry, be inspired and remember.

WHAT YOU WILL SEE

The Beat Goes On takes place in a concert setting with a four piece band that in real life has performed together for over 20 years. The show’s creator singer/actress, “Tribute Artist of the Year” winner Lisa McClowry performs as Cher, voicing Cher’s incredible story in first person as if Cher herself is telling the story. McClowry a professional singer/actress all her adult life has been performing as CHER since 2016. She has mastered the role which includes Cher’s singing style, speaking voice, her walk, her talk, her makeup, her mannerisms and fashion. Nothing is overlooked.

Using actual Cher footage and photos weaving throughout the show during the productions eight dynamic costume changes we take the audience back to Cher’s childhood, how she met Sonny and became “Sonny and Cher,” we highlight Cher’s career history, family facts and more bringing the audience into Cher’s thoughts throughout the storyline by revealing them in first person either through video or by McClowry/“CHER.”

HUMOR

Audiences enjoy the comedy aspect of this show describing the production as a comedy itself. McClowry embodies Cher’s natural comedic timing incorporated several of Cher’s famous phrases and improvisation as she interacts with the audience.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION

Audiences love this part of the show and call it a unique part of the experience. Similar to Blue Man Group McClowry/“CHER” has moments of improvisation with the crowd and on-stage volunteers. There are invitations to sing, dance and clap along. Throughout the show these “bonding moments” are a thread that McClowry/“CHER” promotes during the production.
